Eating Out And Still Losing Weight
Eating smart sounds like its something hard to do, right? You know what, as long as you have to keep in mind that you can eat anything as long as you have it in MODERATION. repeat. MODERATION, again, MODERATION. I cannot ever repeat myself again and again because it’s all plain and simple and self explanatory.
Binging is definitely not a good way especially when you have an excuse let’s say..(at least 5 that I can remember..but you get the gist of what am saying)
1) “Oh my I’ve got my period, am craving for something…..”
- By the time you reached for that craving, you are stuffing your mouth with a load of garbage and end up being bloated and you complain. Now, who’s fault is it? You’ve got nothing to blame but yourself dimwit. lol. Believe you, me I do that too..and its not really good. So, DON’T do it! haaaha. Unless your preggers I guess you are definitely allowed!
2)”I’m depressed, nobody loves me…nobody gives a damn about me…boo hoo..emo moment..etc. etc. so am going to eat, food is my bestfriend right now so am going to eat a lot”…or for men…EMO (emotional) eating.
- At this time, you are having a bucket of KFC, downing some 2 liter coke (or even if it was diet by the way it does makes your belly bulge!) or order some Chinese take out like a large white rice or pork fried rice with spareribs or beef and broccoli cause you think that there’s some vegies in it, its still healthy. And since that is your “bestfriend” and its the only thing that matters to you at this point you wound up eating the whole thing. And for men..okay grab a beer but don’t finish up the whole bodega of beers. lol.
3) “I’m tired of cooking, am going to order something…..”
- Well truth be told, we are allowed to have some break with cooking, I myself get tired of cooking and have gotten into some lazy mood lately so I am one of those guilty ones! hrhrhrhr… so I tend to order that is too much for me but I still end up finishing it since I have this mentality that I don’t want to waste food by throwing it away so instead I stuff myself even when I am so full, therefore the end result is having an indigestion and tummy cramps. wooot. Not fun at all, so WHY on earth should we do that to ourselves??? think about that. So this is a case of “BIG EYES” thats what my late beloved mom would say that to us when we’re younger. That means we eat more than what our mouths could handle.
4) As our friend Ms. Christine Atkinson would say: ” be that you always binge when your friends binge,it’s been proven that women eat more when they are with their girlfriends, but put a guy in the mix and they actually eat less..it’s a psycho thing” (thank you by the way for helping me no matter how busy you are! xx and love!)
So, therefore whatever your friends eat is most likely what you eat too..(most of the time but it varies, am just speaking in general) But if you are quite careful with what you eat you can be a great influence to them by not being too pushy but show them that everything is good as long as you eat in moderation. Sounds conflicting with what I mentioned on the first one? Yeah but like what I’ve said anything that is too much for you is no good. It is for some reason that the company that you keep, is what makes a difference with your lifestyle.
- Losing a few hours of sleep not only affects the mental, but also trigger changes in metabolism that makes a person eat more than usual. Lack of sleep would be dangerous to one’s waistline, as it would have an impact on 2 important hormones that regulate appetite problems of leptin and ghrelin.
Based on the journal Annals of Internal Medicine, people who slept only 4 hours a day in two days would be 18 percent lower leptin (a hormone that signals the brain that the body is getting enough to eat) and increase the hormone ghrelin (hormone that triggers hunger) for 28 percent compared with the rest enough.
SOOOOOOOOO….in order for us to change our bad habits: WE can still eat out and still lose weight. THERE IS HOPE!!!!
By doing so:
1) Outsmarting the restaurant menus: they are designed for you to eat more..lol. They usually put the most profitable photos of these foodies goodies where your eyes hit the hot spot! Like for instance, which in the menu, the upper corners and the center of the page where our eyes naturally travel. The more attention we can bring to an item, the more likely we tend to order it. – says Gregg Rapp an Menu Engineer (yes there’s a job for that! lol) from California.
2) Order some water or drink some water before going out and don’t drink soda even diet ones, they add up calories big time!
3) Salads are great to start with a meal, instead of a heavy and creamy french dressing or thousand island have a Balsamic Vinaigrette instead. Salad usually helps makes you feel full and you would actually eat less after that. And sharing a bowl of family salad is a great way of saving money and everyone enjoys it at the same time!
4)When ordering an appetizer, make sure to have it shared by everyone. Appetizers are meant to be just for a sustaining food before the real deal meal would arrive on the table. Some people would hoard a lot of appetizers, and end up piling more stuff on the table and doubles up the food intake, thusly BINGE.
5)Eat SLOWLY. Enjoy your food!!!!!!!! Unless you’re a felon and the FBI is trying to get you.
6) For desserts, skip on it. or better yet have one of those Free mints or candies that they usually give away for free..and yes by the way you heard it its FREE!
So there ya go. I know that there are a lot of articles for you to find out on how to lose weight and stuff like that, this is just one of those bits of reminders while you are on our site. Might as well try to keep you informed at the same time not only browsing some recipes. Me and my husband are doing the best we can to share what we know and how to help people create their own meals within their budget and be healthy at the same time.
I had to admit some of my recipes are quite heavy on the cholesterol but these are meant to be enjoyed and shared by a lot of people and again in moderation. We cannot just deny ourselves to all the good things, right? Have fun, indulge without the bulge and hope what I’ve shared here helped.
Have a great one everyone, stay fit, healthy, wise and happy!
xx
